Leftists Take to Twitter To Blame/Threaten Beck, Palin and Tea Party For AZ Shooting

Posted on January 9, 2011 by in Articles

This behavior isn’t new. I’ve written about the hatred that the left employs online, especially on Twitter, here and here. You’ll see that this situation is no different. For the record, I do see a distinction between centrist Democrats and the far left/professional left in America. I don’t want it to seem as though I’m “targeting” anyone unnecessarily.

Jared-Lee-LoughnerHere’s a tragedy in which suspect Jared Lee Loughner is now charged with murder and attempted murder. The police say he opened fire at an open political event, killing and wounding innocent Americans. U.S. District Judge John Roll was among the 6 killed, and U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was among those wounded, critically, in her case.

We only knew that people were shot at first, but my oh my, how the left wanted so desperately to quickly prop up the narrative that the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, or anyone else who doesn’t subscribe to leftist ideology, was behind it. However, within minutes of the shooter’s name being released, a swarm of people, from all over the social web, quickly picked through the pertinent details of his social media profiles to dispel this false narrative from the left. The writers raked it all in and started connecting the dots.  Here are a few samples:

Jim Hoft: Flag-Burning, Anti-Religious, Marx Supporter Kills Bush-Appointed Judge… The Left Blames Tea Party & Sarah Palin
Andrew Marcus: Arizona Massacre Exposes: Tea Party Is Afforded Less Benefit Of The Doubt Than Radical Islam!
Byron York: Journalists urged caution after Ft. Hood, now race to blame Palin after Arizona shootings
Anthony Martin: Who Is Jared Lee Loughner?
Bill Hennessy: FLASHBACKS: Media Blame Tea Party for Leftist Crimes

There were many people, literally thousands on Twitter, who contributed to seeking the truth about the motivation of the person accused of this shooting. I was among them, first to tweet Jared’s anti-God claim contained at the end of one of his YouTube videos, “No! I won’t trust in God!” Additionally, my initial tweet about this tragedy had a much different tone than the leftists highlighted in this blog post –> praying for everyone affected by the az shooting. ppl can be so horrible.

Why were we quick to uncover the truth about Loughner when his name was released, and why were we so vocal about it? We seek the truth. That’s how we’re wired.

The remainder of this blog post contains examples of what the left contributed to this tragedy, and precisely what we were reacting to. These leftist responses were in stark contrast to my tweets and everyone else’s tweets with whom I associate. People of my persuasion do not give tacit approval to the things mentioned below by being passive or silent in the face of such evil dishonesty and cowardly threats. The left doesn’t get to control the narrative any longer.

Social media has changed the political playing field forever. These are not the days of rabbit ears, 3 major networks, and a local indie station. No, we’ve chosen to do our own news gathering today, because it’s obvious the leftist media won’t do it. They’d have you believe that the shooter was a Right-wing Nazi, inspired by Palin, who moonlighted as a Randian objectivist – utter nonsense. This dark situation is a prime example of why the leftist media outlets like the New York Times, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc. have all lost viewers and readers to the point where they’ve had to file bankruptcy, or trail so far behind in the ratings as to be on par, ironically, with The Cartoon Network.

These are among the most disgusting words and irresponsible accusations in modern political discourse. Proceed at your own risk from here.

Here’s what the mouthpiece for Media Matters (a neo-Marxist, non-think tank in D.C.) had to say yesterday about the tragedy.

media.marxers

Piers Morgan, A CNN on-air personality (maybe some insight here as to why CNN’s ratings keep going down):

marxmorgan

The person who started the neo-Marxist blog, The Daily Kos, impressed everyone with this brilliant accusation (many in the neo-Marxist circles refer to patriotic Americans as “The American Taliban”):

marxkos

Jane Fonda, the Communist sympathizer, need I say more:

janefromunda

Bill Maher, the far left atheist:

marxher

And lastly, The D-List celebrity Kathy Griffin’s sophomoric tweet asking Sarah Palin if she’s happy about murder. Interesting to note that Kathy’s tweet had more retweets than the others above. A commentary about the collective conscience of the left? Perhaps.

kathydlistgriffin

The king of leftist propaganda himself, Keith Olbermann, chimed in with this video while completely ignoring the shooter’s own words. As if some 22 year old is really going to be motivated by crosshairs on a year old political map. <shaking my head> Keith might want to focus on people who hate god, love the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf, and those who support flag burning. Yes, that’s the real profile of Jared Lee Loughner. My people do not subscribe to ANY of these things, but we know the left does. Therefore, Keith will ignore the truth.

And finally, the comments from the Twittersphere (this is a small sampling of Tweets below, there were literally thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of these comments on Twitter), who are influenced by the ignorant and irresponsible people above (Keith said in his video that his viewers are sober and peaceful – one cannot tell from their remarks on Twitter). Without one shred of evidence, in this specific case, to support their claims, and quite a bit of evidence to the contrary, people tweeted these remarkably stupid, hateful, and violent things:

birthday__girl: Kill every single #tcot member. Shoot every single one in the head. Kill their children. #teaparty

Who or what is behind this history of unfounded leftist vitriol? Is it a lack of God in their lives? Are most of these people just lemmings? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below.

Yep, I’m terrified. God-fearing people whose only stated goal is to roll back government power are under absolute assault. These lunatics fringe types will not be happy until more people are dead. It’s sickening.

  • http://www.hennessysview.com Bill Hennessy

Liberals behave as though the end justifies any means. We’re seeing that now.
Where conservatives see tragedy, liberals exploit opportunity.
    While conservatives pray, liberals plot.
    When conservatives object, liberals accuse.

This has been the most chilling, depressing weekend I’ve experienced in a long time. I’m moved to wonder whether these leftists have sold their humanity to some dark, sordid power.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

personally, i think the left have hastened their demise with this crazy move. metaphorically speaking, of course.

      • http://twitter.com/Alvin691 Alvin691

Oops, can’t have metaphors. See Dana Loesch ;)

        • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

alvin… what? no metaphors? but @dloesch is the sh*t.

      • http://www.facebook.com/shimauma42 Shima Uma

LOL, yes better be careful saying “demise”, they might accuse you of being out to get them. That’s the problem with the left wing dementia, they get all paranoid and crotchety…

  • Neville Harvey

I do wonder how you people can be so stupid, it is truly terrifying. Don’t cry about Sarah Palin being blamed for inciting violence by using violent imagery, because she is inciting violence by using violent imagery. If she strongly believes the vile rhetoric she peddles, why bother going round deleting all the comments afterwards. It shows total cowardice and hypocrisy and a staggering scale. The Tea Party should grow up and accept responsibility for its actions.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

oooo, our first troll… who obviously can’t read and/or who has zero reading comprehension. should we expect you to understand what was written above? they are words, after all. wanna try reading again and post something cogent, or should i just block you now?

    • http://twitter.com/Coondawg68 Chris Coon

Like going around deleting posts calling Giffords “DEAD to me” put up 2 days before the shooting? Or posts saying she should be TARGETED for punishment a week before?

Those kinds of incitements to violence who’s authors should be held responsible?

    • Anonymous

I really think it is no coincidence that this tragedy occurred the same week the champion of the Left, Frances Fox-Piven, called out for an angry, violent revolution. Perhaps the Az. shooting is a direct consequence of her asking the crazies to rise up on the left, AS HAPPENED IN AZ?
I am a proud American Tea Party Patriot and my belief is that there is NO place for violence anywhere in Politics.

  • http://twitter.com/NiCionnoith NiCionnoith

    Nuance.

  • Kim

Most are lemmings. They don’t know how to think for themselves, are too lazy/stupid to find out things for themselves and want the government to do the heavy lifting. The media and shills know this and exploit it.

You new troll is an excellent case in point whining about violent imagery, but probably has nothing to say about the crud in the “entertainment industry” with its violent imagery, rape fantasies, racism, etc (listen to any rap song). But, of course, nothing is done about that because “it’s just entertainment”. Mind you, if someone they are told to disagree with would do it, it it would be entirely different. Really, the next time some black girl gets raped is it 50cent’s fault?

The left believe and count on the fact that (some) people can’t think for themselves and are shocked that there are actually people out there that believe in self-responsibility and that people are capable of making decisions/choices on their own. Hence why it just *MUST* be Palin’s or the Tea Party’s fault that this happened. The shooter couldn’t have thought this out all by himself, could he?? Whereas we on the right believe that people have two brain cells (or at least should) and are responsible for their own thoughts and actions.

I hope you are right, Brooks, that this is the beginning of the end of these evil people who exploit the stupid and want to turn the populace into infants.

Excellent article and thanks for sharing it.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

if we speak up and hold these leftists accountable, they will eventually scurry away like the cockroaches they are.

  • Anonymous

Saw this in the comments section of a story on the shooting….

Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
Obama on ACORN: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

Nothing like good ole “right-wing” hatred and violence, right liberals?

  • Liebertf

Thanks for the “List of Lunatics”. It saddens and scares me but its helpful to see the other side. I may be wrong, but I don’t believe this list represents a sizeable group. Maybe 2% or so.Could be my optimism?

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

i didn’t have all month to compile a seemingly never-ending, exhaustive, list of these hatemongers. i had to get the blog post written. the entire leftist social web was full of this nonsense! it was sizable – from the nyt to d-list leftists to the entire #p2 twitter stream.

  • http://twitter.com/Coondawg68 Chris Coon

Projection. The hard-core left ALWAYS accuse their political opponents of what they feel in their own hearts.

Inherent in the dehumanizing and demonizing of their political opponents as racist, Taliban, ‘Tea-Baggers’, violent hate-mongers – is the implication that SOMETHING MUST BE DONE to stop us.

Censor talk radio, the internet, Fox News. Portray conservatives in study after study as mentally unsound, brain-damaged etc… Legislate and intimidate their political opposition away.

There is vitriolic rhetoric in America today, and it doesn’t come from those calling for adherence to the Constitution, less government control of individuals, fiscal discipline and lower taxes… It’s coming from those who’s political ideology is the same as revolutionary Marxists, totalitarian fascists and anarchist Socialists who made the last century the most brutal and bloody 100 year period in history.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

and now that we have the social web, leftists lose.

      • http://www.facebook.com/shimauma42 Shima Uma

that’s prolly why they want to control the internet. It drives the libtards crazy that we have a source outside the leftard media to verify what we hear and read.

    • http://twitter.com/CFACT CFACT

You are absolutely correct to say there is vitriolic rhetoric coming from the radical left. Last year alone provides two horrific examples.

Remember James Lee, the “Inconvenient Terrorist,” who took hostages at the Discovery Channel building because of his global warming and population agenda? http://bit.ly/cwgNgd He had completely bought in to radical environmental ideology, which views humanity as a parasite on the face of the earth.

And let’s not forget the horrific climate video put out by the 10:10 group campaigning for CO2 reductions. http://bit.ly/bmdrla Their video showed schoolchildren (and many others) being graphically blown up for expressing even the slightest skepticism over the leftist global warming alarmism. The blood and gore in that video make Palin’s crosshairs look like a peace sign!

    Hey Brooks,

“and now that we have the social web, leftists lose. ”

We only have the social web for as long as we resist Odumbo and his cohorts attempts to shut it down under “Net Neutrality”.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they planned their contemptible response to this tragedy as just one more excuse to grab control of access to the internet. You know, just like Iran did when their population tried to throw their bums out of political office and the Iranian mullahs had to literally beat such notions out of their apostate skulls.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

the truth will always win eventually. the social web will make it nearly impossible for the msm to lie to ppl anymore *and* have it stick. sure, they’ll still try to lie and obfuscate because it’s a decades old habit, but it won’t have the life it once did.

the narrative now belongs to us. ironically, most of the social web platforms like twitter and facebook were created and run by those who identify with the left. thanks, leftists, for the tools to help beat you politically every year henceforth.

      • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

The harder you push one way, the harder they push they other way. It’s the universe balancing itself out.

I do agree that’s what’s great about social media. Slant becomes more apparent, and the real truth will hopefully prevail. Unfortunately, the truth doesn’t pay that much, so be prepared to keep fighting to get above all the clutter.

        • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

do we look like we’re not ready for a fight? bring. it. leftism cannot stand in america. these responses above are the results of the mass stupidity that leftism has been breeding in america for decades. we can only re-educate so fast.

          • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

            But it’s there, Brooks.
You need some honey, homey. Fire won’t work.
Both sides can buy guns, and jump up and down. That’s precisely the problem.

          • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

please go write a blog post about the tens of thousands of ppl on twitter calling for the deaths of leftists. i’ll wait here, but i won’t hold my breath. why? because they don’t exist. however, your “honey” already exists from this side, but most of us non-leftists will never kowtow to violence, or to stupid – which is what we’re all seeing from the left in huge numbers right now. get it yet?

  • Maleanza

I find it particularly troubling that as a society we are completely willing to sacrifice truth to further an agenda.

I believe our problem is selfishness, a lack of moral teaching, little respect for human life and the banishment of God from the public square. Evil exists in the world and people do evil, wicked things.

Edmund Burke once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

The good have stood by too long without speaking out against evil and it is winning.

  • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

The right cannot be surprised that everyone is looking at them sideways, when they have been employing this gunplay rhetoric for over two years. 2nd amendment remedies, watering the tree of liberty, bullets if not ballots, etc… That has been right-wing vouge since Obama was elected.

Now some of the people who the right “targeted” get shot. Even if the shooter was a leftist (which may very well be the case), you can’t for a minute act shocked.

Everyone who loves America needs to understand the consequences of playing with this type of rhetoric, despite what the talking heads will have you believe.

    • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

yes, non-leftists can be surprised, because there was no evidence in this case to suggest their statements or political graphics caused this. in fact, there was plenty of evidence that this guy didn’t subscribe to any of my views – and probably subscribes more to the view of the left. that was all laid out above. no need to repeat it here. if you didn’t understand it the first time, then re-read it.

the left also “targeted” the same woman. http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=249273 don’t be daft.

every single person listed above in my blog post are, at best, irresponsible. and at the very worst, they’re criminal.

      • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

I know…I know. The guy had the communist manifesto in his stack of books (along with Mein Kopf).

But you know that the news cycle needs to feed the belligerent masses with something (and I think Brittany is out rehab)…don’t be daft. You also know that based on the gun-talk image that the right has allowed themselves to be branded with over the last two year, the MSM is going to come after the right after anything gun-related, whether deserved or not.

It may be a stretch to connect the Palin campaign ads to the shooting, but I’ve seen thinner arguments succeed in the court of public opinion.

If the any of people listed above are criminally liable for anything, so are the ones who have remained silent, or worse, embraced employing that type of rhetoric for political purposes…either side.

We can point fingers, and take tallies on the past, or we can figure out where we go with this next.

        • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

daft doesn’t mean what you think it does if that’s the context in which you’re using it.

you’re claim that silent people are criminally liable tells us all we need to know about your point of view.

          • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

Hey whatever you say, you’re the professional writer. I’m just commenting.

and yes silent people are sometimes to blame. If you see someone getting robbed in the street, and don’t call the cops…well… In my opinion, you are somewhat liable. In the eyes of the law, you may not liable…but in the eyes of God. (Maybe we are just different in that regard) Sometimes you have to call out the BS. or else you are passively endorsing it.

If people step up and say…hey we disagree with your policies, but we disagree with that 2nd amendment solution comment/threat is unnecessary…well then, your opposition wouldn’t have a pot to piss in.

If you shout at them and threaten them, then you will get heat when something goes wrong. I mean look at the right backing up. Palin took the ad down, Ailes screaming everyone tone it down…I mean everyone knows what that type of talk does…and now the mob is out.

I AGREE that the stuff said is above is bogus.

But, don’t be surprised at the knee-jerk reaction from your opposition. People do it all the time, on both sides of the spectrum.

          • http://brooksbayne.com brooksbayne

i challenge you to write a blog post of your own and demonstrate that the problem we’re seeing here is equal, and you keep commenting here.

here’s more evidence that you’re probably not aware of: http://michellemalkin.com/2011/01/10/the-progressive-climate-of-hate-an-illustrated-primer-2000-2010/

stop trying to convince me with talk. show me proof, and if you can’t, be prepared to admit that i’m right. would it kill you to admit that you’re wrong? oops…see what i did there.

          • http://twitter.com/afrobombblog Afrobomb

I’m sorry if I am trying to convince you with talk in this comment section of your blog, devoted to well….commenting.

I’ve pondered writing something on this but, I’m not sure that would convince you (or people like you) of anything besides your own very deep convictions…perhaps I can just assemble a litany of examples like yours above, and we can determine a winner based on how many examples we have at the end of the day. However, that doesn’t seem productive to me…in fact, that’s just more of the same…you’re missing my point.

My point is simple and it’s clear.
            Take it or leave it.
Violent rhetoric can lead to violence.

If violence can happen as a result of listening to rap music (which your source Michele Malkin is surely convinced of) it can happen in listening to violent rhetoric in politics. I’d like to believe that people feel much more passionate about a socialist takeover over their country, than 50 Cent dissing Snoop Dogg in a video.

In a free society we can disagree without alluding to killing off the opposition. You are totally within your 1st amendment right to do so, but at the end of the day, people will be polarized, and they aren’t going to see your point, as valid as it may be. Seems like a simple concept to me.

I don’t wan’t to have a pissing contest. It’s a simple concept that I’m sure most fair minded people would entertain.

i’ve told you to give it a rest and go prove my challenge. you’re just wasting my time. you keep saying these things that, based on all the evidence, doesn’t apply to ppl of my persuasion. contact all the ppl listed above and tell them what you told me. that’s where you need to be looking.

feelings rule the day, absent logic and facts. thru these feelings come a manufactured reality they really believe as truth. krugman leads they way, good example of commenting before anything is known about this, comments made OF pure emotion, hate mostly of people who challenge their perception of reality. WITHOUT TRUTH, LOGIC, REASON. NO WONDER THEY ARE AFRAID.

Excellent article, Brooks. It is unbelievable how once they have picked their story, their narrative, they won’t depart from it, regardless of the facts. Thank you for laying it out so clearly here.

Believe it or not, even we here at CFACT were attacked as a result of this tragedy: http://bit.ly/etY3GP
