GRC-20 Hackathon: Advancing Data Interoperability

Geo and The Graph teamed up to launch the GRC-20 Hackathon, letting builders build with cutting-edge developments in data interoperability within The Graph ecosystem.

Miss signing up? Don’t worry!

You can still learn and build with GRC-20 with an interview with the Founder of The Graph, Yaniv Tal, a blog entry, as well as dive into the spec.

A Message from Rodrigo Coelho, the New CEO at Edge & Node

The Graph’s first hire, Rodrigo Coelho has been appointed as the new CEO of Edge & Node. Rodrigo would like to share this message with all devs in The Graph Builders Newsletter:

The Graph is the backbone of a truly decentralized internet, and I’m honored to lead Edge & Node in advancing this vision. We’re not just supporting dapps—we’re empowering builders to unlock new possibilities for data, interoperability, and permissionless innovation. The future of web3 goes beyond subgraphs; it’s about reimagining how information flows and how value is created across the entire ecosystem.

graph-cli Enhancements: v0.94.0 & v0.95 Released

  • v0.95 Release: Enhances error handling, added Sourcify for ABI lookups, and expands subgraph configuration options.
  • v0.94.0 Fixes: Resolves `graph init` issues from v0.93.x.

9 Time & Money Saving Subgraph Optimizations

There are a total of 9 time and money-saving subgraph optimizations shared in a recent blog post.

Let’s take a look at #3: “Leverage Immutable Entities”

Best For: Event-heavy applications like token transfer trackers or transaction analytics dashboards.

Immutable entities are ideal for storing data that doesn't change, such as on-chain events. They improve both indexing and query performance by eliminating unnecessary updates and filters.

How to Define Immutable Entities:

Add the (immutable: true) directive to your schema. See the above 🔼 image for an example.

Read this cookbook and this article to learn more about the performance improvements of using Immutable Entities, then read all 9 optimization techniques to improve your experience with subgraphs!

$0 Chain Integrations: Expanding Decentralized Access

The Graph continues its zero-cost chain integration initiative, making decentralized indexing more accessible. If your chain seeks integration, reach out today!

Soneium Mainnet: The Graph from Day One

On January 14th, Soneium launched its mainnet, and The Graph was integrated from day one. Developers can now utilize The Graph’s indexing solutions to create data-driven, decentralized applications on Soneium. Stay tuned for further updates!

Expanding Network Support

January introduced seven new blockchain networks to The Graph’s ecosystem, bringing the total to nearly 100(!) chains:

  • Sonic
  • Hemi
  • EXPchain Polyhedra
  • Soneium
  • Japan Open Chain
  • Lumia
  • Mint

Onwards!

BuildersDAO: Free Subgraph Deployment for Abstract Chain

BuildersDAO is now offering complimentary subgraph deployment for Abstract Chain projects! If you’re building within this ecosystem and need reliable indexing, now is your chance.

Edge & Node, working on The Graph

About The Graph

The Graph  is the leading indexing and query protocol powering the decentralized internet. Since launching in 2018, it has empowered tens of thousands of developers to effortlessly build  Subgraphs  and leverage  Substreams  across countless blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Celo, Soneium, and Avalanche. With powerful tools like Substreams and Token API, The Graph delivers high-performance, real-time access to onchain data. From low-latency indexing to rapid token data, it serves as the premier solution for building composable, data drive dapps.
