Unichain Testnet is Live and Integrated with The Graph

Today, Uniswap announced Unichain, a brand new L2 shaping the evolution of DeFi in the Ethereum ecosystem. Unichain is an OP Stack chain designed to be a faster, more cost-effective home for DeFi applications that functions as the home for liquidity across chains in web3 – with data made easily accessible thanks to a day-one integration with The Graph.

The Graph empowers developers to quickly create performant applications using fast and ultra-reliable blockchain data, building on time-tested technology as the original protocol that introduced and standardized subgraphs. That history includes indexing Uniswap data as early as 2019, and continues with the integration of Unichain testnet. As of today, all developers building on Unichain can organize and access onchain data easily using subgraphs on The Graph.

What is Unichain?

Unichain is a fast and low-cost L2, with near-instant transactions built on the OP Stack. Launching with 1-second block times, and with 200-250 milliseconds effective block times coming soon, Unichain aims to reduce latency while improving market efficiency and provide a home for liquidity across chains, all while lowering value lost to MEV.

Additionally, Unichain plans to introduce a Validation Network and Provable Block Building in 2025. This includes a network of full nodes that monitor and verify the actions of the sequencer, bringing faster settlement and more decentralization to Unichain and block building delegated to a trusted execution environment (TEE) developed in partnership with Flashbots.
